![]() If you measure the parameter in kilograms per liter, the liter of water weights more that liter of ice. The reason that the density of the solid water is less than the liquid. But you can try to put stones into the drink, nobody believes that it can behave in the same way as ice. Ice cubes do not sink, they somehow float on the surface of the drink. Let's take some drink with ice, which you can afford in a usual bar. But even water has some secrets and it is not quite an understandable matter. Nobody doubts the abundance and importance of it. Many other liquids include water too: milk, beer, etc. ![]() That's why we all need to use, that liquid, which is infiltrated everywhere, event in dry vegetables and fruits. In everyday life, it is used when dining, washing, bathing. Nobody can live without the liquid for a long time. It is obvious, water is the most widely used drink. Also between granules might be lots of air. If we take granulated sugar and sugar powder, what right density is found? It is quite understandable that powder can be pressed more or less. Then it is difficult to decide what weights more. Various things can consist of the same material. Much more complicated thing is to decide when the main material is water, oil and so on. It is obvious that nails are made from iron and it is more dense comparing to flour. Everything depends on physical attribute which is called density of any material. But it is possible to explain it in a scientific way. Even a child understands that nails weigh much more. If anybody asks you what product is heavier: one liter of nails or flour, your sanity will not be disturbed. There is a way how to formulate this matter. What is the difference?
